Move Into Your Home!

We made it! You’re a new homeowner and, hopefully, you’re getting settled into your new place.

Now that we’re past closing, here are some more things to consider:

• Change or rekey your locks. We often suggest a smart deadbolt lock like Schlage’s Smart Locks.

• Look into preventative measures to protect your home, like Smart Water Sensors, and RING

• Order extra air filters for your furnace. Best practice is to set up a recurring purchase on Amazon for every 3-6 months to automatically ship you a new furnace filter that will remind you to change your furnace filter.

• Create reminders on your phone or calendar for spring and fall checklists for home maintenance. 

• As you customize your house with new paint, flooring, etc it is best practice to keep a file or spreadsheet with all paint colors/finishes, flooring type and color and anything else that would be helpful for touch ups down the road.

• Always keep track of receipts for any home improvements for when you sell your house.
